Now open: Walk-On’s at Towne Center

Walk-On’s opened its Towne Center location Monday. The 8,500-square-foot restaurant in the space of the former Mugshots Grill & Bar, 7425 Corporate Blvd., boasts more than 80 high-definition flat-screen TVs, more than 60 beers on tap, custom pour-your-own table taps, a VIP room, banquet facilities and an outdoor patio with a beer garden.

Co-owner and founder of Walk-On’s Enterprises Brandon Landry said in a press release that the new location is the perfect setting for the restaurant.

“Our newest Walk-On’s is truly special,” he said. “The space is bigger, the kitchen is huge, it has a great dining and bar layout, and we’re in an ideal location to serve the families, businesses and hotel guests in the area.”

Landry hosted a private VIP event last Friday where 100% of the evening’s bar sales were donated to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Baton Rouge. More than $5,000 was raised.

Though the original Walk-On’s on Burbank Drive remains, the Coursey Boulevard location has closed. Sister locations in Lafayette and New Orleans are still operating. The “bistreaux and bar” was voted “Best Sports Bar in America” by ESPN in 2012.

Walk-On’s in Towne Center is open seven days a week, 11 a.m.-midnight, and is open until 2 a.m. Thursdays and Fridays.
