Snoop Dogg to perform at The Varsity – Multi-platinum artist will visit B.R. for Valentine’s Day show

Snoop Dogg, a.k.a. Snoop Lion, returns to The Varsity this Valentine’s Day. The show was announced today and tickets for the multi-platinum artist’s performance are on sale now. More information is available here.

The hip-hopper turned reggae singer last performed in Baton Rouge in March 2011.

Since his performance, Snoop Dogg announced a new moniker, Snoop Lion, and released the reggae-style album Reincarnated. His new name comes from a spiritual awakening that grew from a positive trip to Jamaica.

Throughout his 20-year career, Snoop Dogg has had huge success, thanks to hits such as “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Beautiful,” “Gin and Juice,” “Murder Was the Case,” and many more. The rapper has also starred in a number of films, including Starsky & Hutch and Training Day.

Tickets are $46 and are now available online. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 9 p.m.
