Mud and Water hosts Cary Hudson and guests

Southern rock courtesy of singer-songwriter/guitarist Cary Hudson hits the stage at Mud and Water this Saturday night. You might have heard Hudson in the band Blue Mountain, which released a slew of albums from 1993-2008. Among them is the 1995 critically-acclaimed Dog Days, which features the song “Mountain Girl.” The singer released his sixth solo album Mississippi Moon in 2012 and was named one of Gibson Magazine‘s Top Alt-Country Guitarists of All-Time in 2008. Hudson will perform with a few guests Saturday at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8.

OMT Band. The variety band performs a free show at The Belle of Baton Rouge. 9 p.m.
Royal Cyclops presents Goodbye to this World. A tribute to Hank Williams at Red Dragon Listening Room, featuring performances from Clay Parker, Ryan Harris and many more. 7:30 p.m.
Hazy Ray. The band performs at Tallulah’s inside the Renaissance Hotel. 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

Hall of Fame Blues Jam. Cleveland Jefferson hosts this jam night at The Blues Room. 9 p.m.
On the road: Brass Bed. Gasa Gasa (4920 Freret St., New Orleans, La.). Tickets are $8 online, $10 day of and $30 for a three-hour open bar and ticket.

Hip Hop Night. DJ Mike Larry cooks up the sweet tunes at Spanish Moon. Ladies drink free until 10 p.m. No cover charge for guys until 10 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Minos the Saint, Killer Whale, Summer Fits, Marine. Four local pop-rock bands perform at Spanish Moon. 9 p.m. $7.
Lucy and the Gamblers. The local soul/funk/rock band performs at Mud and Water. 9 p.m.
Stay the Night, Circa Amore. Two rock bands perform at Here Today Gone Tomorrow. 8 p.m.
Shirley Brown. The R&B singer performs a free concert at The Atrium inside Belle of Baton Rouge Casino. Doors open at 7 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Christworm. The hard rock band performs at Spanish Moon. 10 p.m. $7.
John Gray’s Soul Jukeboxx. The soul band performs at Quarters. 10 p.m. $10.
