Latte e Miele to offer dinner service in January
A seven-course wine dinner Wednesday night helped Latte e Miele’s staff usher in expanded services at the Jefferson Highway cafe (Map it!). Owner Luca Di Martino says they will start dinner service in January with a small, rotating menu Tuesday-Saturday until about 11 p.m. He says he wanted to provide a place for people to get quality food later in the evening. The popular gelato and lunch spot, known for using fresh and local ingredients, will also begin serving brunch Saturdays and Sundays starting in January.
As for the wine dinner—something Di Martino and Executive Chef Marcus Day hope to do monthly—that included homemade tortellini stuffed with house ricotta in a light broth, a salad of local greens, charred Brussels sprouts and spiced beets, a diver scallop in parsnip puree, mascarpone gelato and more. “This is basically an opportunity for all of us to showcase what we do,” Di Martino told the diners.
