Maxwell’s on Highland offers Supper Club menu

A month ago, Maxwell’s Market on Highland Road (Map it!) started asking customers if they would be interested in take-home meals that differed from the store’s standard fare of lasagna and enchiladas.

The answer was a resounding yes.

Last week, the Highland location of the Baton Rouge staple started its Supper Club Menu. To get the menu, interested customers sign up by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. Each Sunday, patrons receive a menu and can then reserve a meal. The suppers are $45 and can feed up to four.

The idea came from the store’s managers—Maddie Dupuy, Trent Frierson and Ryan Roughton—and store chef Craig Honigman. Dupuy says the club offers a different option for those looking for a quick, hearty meal for the entire family.

“We have had prepared foods in the past, and we have our cuts of meat, but this is different,” she says. “We started out with foods that we grew up on as kids and what we love. We want to include member suggestions in the future. They can send suggestions to our website or tell us at the store what they’ve been craving.”

Next week’s menu includes herb-crusted, praline mustard-glazed pork tenderloin, chipotle-stuffed sweet potatoes and a spring mix salad topped with bleu cheese crumbles, toasted almonds, fresh strawberries and champagne vinaigrette dressing.
