Fall is a great time to shop the Farmers Market

Berkshire pork, homemade pecan pies, Gulf white shrimp and a fusion of late summer and early fall produce abound Saturday at the Red Stick Farmers Market at Fifth and Main Streets downtown.

Bring your muscles or wagon, because you can take tons of produce home from the dozens of regular vendors who set up outside and within the Main Street Market.

Moreover, Beausoleil co-owner and Executive Chef Nathan Gresham joins Chef Celeste Gill this Saturday for the weekly Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration.

Gresham has become known for his commitment to using locally sourced ingredients at his Bocage restaurant and will prepare a seasonal dish at the market using fresh produce from local farmers.

Be sure to arrive by the North Street entrance of the market at 10 a.m. to watch him in action and sample his dish.
