Annual Food and Wine Experience Friday

The Baton Rouge Irish Club hosts its annual Food and Wine Experience at the Celtic Media Centre (Map it!) Friday. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. and features food from award-winning chef Matt Murphy, the current chef for New Orleans’ The Irish House. He previously worked at The Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans. Last July, he won first place on an episode of the hit competitive reality show Chopped. Whitney Vann will host Friday’s event, which also features live music from the North Channel Band, art from Juliet Lockwood and a silent auction featuring jewelry designed by Jack Hood Jewelers. Tickets can be purchased at Elizabethan Gallery (Map it!), Bonefish Grill (Map it!) or The Irish House in New Orleans (Map it!). Prices are $30 for Irish Club members, $35 for non-members and $40 at the door. Proceeds from the event will help fund next year’s Irish Film Festival, held July 18-21.
