Fashion’s Night Dope
This past Wednesday’s Fashion’s Night Out was an exclusive, invite-only event hosted by inRegister, Business Report, and 225. The event was held at L’Auberge Hotel and Casino. Upon arrival, every guest was presented with a beer mug the size of a shot glass that was to be given to the bartender with the dankest beverage in a competition that pulled bartenders from popular places in Baton Rouge. Each drink was uniquely created by these bartenders, who are employed by the fine establishments of Chimes, Pelican House, and Roux House, among other sweet spots. Tara of Mestizo on S. Acadian received my mini beer mug, well deserved due to her dank concoction called “Three’s a Crowd” that included pineapples, tarragon, and blueberry. The overall winner with the most mugs will be announced at the Avenue Rouge Runway event.

The outfits sported by the guests of this event were nothing short of flossy. Guest style blogger Gibbs and I swagged in the establishment in some super dope getups. Gibbs was rocking a boxy zip-up Lafayette top over Current Elliot leather leggings and printed platform DV8 pumps, a Dolce Vita line. She accessorized with a large Ted Baker clutch and an iced out chunky Elizabeth Cole NY necklace. Her infamous wrist candy obsession was on display with a gold Kate Spade watch, 2 colorful studded bracelets from Anthropologie, and a Gold House of Harlow cuff from NK. I layered up with Gibbs’ signature bracelets-to-the-biceps look, rockin’ an alligator strap Louis Bolle watch, a RENU Jewelry vintage blue and gold cuff (Brooke Squyres, thankssss girllll, @RENUjewelry on Instagram), an Alexis Bittar bangle, and a custom topaz and solid gold blang rang designed by my aunt, Colleen Scully. On my right arm I accessorized with a David Yurman cocktail ring along with stacked vintage silver and gold rings, a leather Prada wrap bracelet paired with a gem wrap bracelet from Love, my mother’s leather and gold cuff from a boutique in Destin, and a classic Gucci horse-bit leather bracelet. My look of the night was the dressed up tee, layering a simple white Michael Stars cotton t-shirt with a neon statement necklace from South Moon Under and tucking it into a colorful, slitted maxi skirt from Anthropologie. I wore it with emerald green sandals with lots of gold hardware.

We had seaux much fun chatting poolside with the yo-pros (young professionals) of Baton Rouge including style blogger Jennifer Papallatoc, 225 editor Jeff Roedel, Of Moving Colors artistic director Garland Wilson, and of course my role model, internationally renowned salon owner, master stylist, and artist Rigsby Frederick. The indoors area of the event included a white backdrop and fun props for photo-booth style pictures that printed on the spot. #dopetimes. Can’t wait for the next sick event!
