SweetWater beer now in Baton Rouge
An Atlanta brewery started bringing a number of its beers to Baton Rouge this week. SweetWater Brewing Company will be offered in nearly 50 Baton Rouge locations by the week’s end, according to Director of Marketing Steve Farace.
Until this summer, SweetWater beers were only available in six states. Farace says Louisiana was on the brewery’s map for a while, and once the company did its research about the craft beer market here, the decision was a no-brainer.
Not all of SweetWater’s beers are available in Baton Rouge yet, but Farace says the company is offering a solid selection for beer drinkers to enjoy, including the 420 Pale Ale, the IPA and SweetWater Blue—a light wheat ale.

“We have plenty more left in the chamber as far as styles go,” Farace says. “We’re starting strong with what we’ve got. We’ll be bringing more as the opportunities are realized.”
Farace says SweetWater will be shipping beer here once or twice a week, to keep up with the company’s quality standards—bringing unpasteurized, “super-fresh” beer that’s best within 90 days to the Capital City marketplace.
The beers are now available on draft at 3rd Street Pub, Chelsea’s Café, Mud and Water, Radio Bar, Red Zeppelin, both Chimes locations, The Pelican House, The Cove, and many others. SweetWater is also available for purchase at Albertson’s, Bet-R, Calandro’s, Leblanc’s and Matherne’s locations.
