Blues Gala honors Muddy Waters

The Baton Rouge Blues Foundation will celebrate and honor the life of Muddy Waters this Thursday at the 2013 Blues Gala. The event starts at 7 p.m. at Capitol Park Museum (Map it!). Waters is known as a huge inspiration to blues music across the world. Born in Mississippi, Waters is considered the father of the Chicago blues. Tickets are $35 and include a year’s membership to the foundation. Proceeds from the event benefit the foundation. For more information, call 274-6902.
