Falling into “fall”

Though the sweltering heat of August is upon us, I can’t help but think about fall clothing already. The layering, the sweaters, the crisp air that makes for great hair days! Now is the perfect time to begin slowly warming yourself up to a cooler wardrobe. Take this dress, for example: I have worn it out this summer, wearing it one or two times a week! To take it into pre-fall, I added a light silk scarf that breathes wonderfully and traded sandals for ankle boots. I am wearing similar jewelry to my normal go-to accessories for this dress, so putting this outfit together was fairly brainless. Same dress, same jewelry, just add a scarf and switch up the shoes. Easy, right?

For cooler months, I will slip into a pair of sweater tights and rock a turtleneck underneath (turtlenecks FTW) and be good to go! There is absolutely no reason why you can’t wear some of your wardrobe year round! The idea of a summer wardrobe and winter wardrobe does not work here in south Louisiana, so rethink the rules and, dare I say it, think twice about how to add versatility to what you already own.

Go forth and re-conquer your wardrobe.
