Dawes, Jason Isbell to perform in October – Tickets go on sale to the public August 5

Two critically-acclaimed rock bands perform in October at the Manship Theatre.

Dawes will take the stage with singer-songwriter Jason Isbell on Friday, October 11. Tickets are $35 and go on sale to the general public Monday, August 5.

Dawes, a Los Angeles rock band, released Stories Don’t End in April. The album climbed into The Billboard 200 sales charts and received glowing reviews. Among some of its tracks is a cover of the Blake Mills tune “Hey Lover.” Mills also helped out with arrangements and songwriting duties on a few other songs on the disc.

Isbell is perhaps most known for his time as a member of the Drive-By Truckers, a Southern rock band out of Athens, Ga., and Muscle Shoals, Ala. Isbell has since departed that band and crafted quite the solo career. His latest album, Southeastern, was released this June. Paste Magazine, among others, called the new album “a triumph.”
