Curry in a hurry

You can always tell a good Indian restaurant by the spicy aroma wafting out the door. After a brief hiatus, Curry N Kabab reopened last fall on Coursey Boulevard and has been dishing out tasty fare ever since. The buffet is the big draw at this tiny restaurant—available at lunch and dinner. A recent evening featured goat curry, Chicken Biryani, Paneer Makhni (cubed cheese in tomato cream sauce) and Pakora (mixed vegetables fried in chickpea batter), among other dishes.

If you’re a little nervous about all those flavor combinations, you can’t go wrong with the Achari Chicken, a delicious North Indian curry that uses a tomato base with bell pepper and generous hunks of chicken. Think of it as Indian comfort food.

Served over fragrant basmati rice, the sauce is creamy, the chicken is juicy and the flavors are just spicy enough to make you take another gulp of lassi. A big plus is the delicious naan that keeps finding its way to your table and is perfect for scooping up leftover sauce. The dinner buffet runs about $11, with entrees at $9-$15.
