EatLafayette promotes city’s restaurants with 11 weeks of specials

Since it was honored in 2011 by Rand McNally/USA Today as Best Food City in the United States, Lafayette has continued to call attention to its home-grown restaurants. EatLafayette, a promotional campaign for local eateries, is underway now through Sept. 2 with specials and discounts at dozens of eateries around the city.

For example, at Café Vermilionville, mention EatLafayette and get a four-course menu for $25; choose between turtle soup au sherry or corn and crab bisque for the first course, followed by a house salad or arugula salad with lemon parmesan vinaigrette. For the main course, choose from macadamia-crusted scallops, minted rainbow trout or crab cakes, followed by either white chocolate bread pudding or key lime pie.

At the wine bar POUR, which features 48 self-serve wine stations and an appealing boutique menu, mention the campaign for a $4 cocktail special in honor of the week.
