Broadway hit Dreamgirls lands at River Center Saturday

What do you get when you mix a love triangle soap opera with classic Motown sounds? The result is a Tony- and Oscar-winning production called Dreamgirls. Debuting on Broadway in the early ’80s, Dreamgirls centers around a make-believe, all-female group that makes it big in the ’60s and ’70s. Since the play’s original run, Dreamgirls has catapulted into another atmosphere of popularity thanks to the film adaptation, starring Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles, Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson.
