Zapp’s Beer Fest tickets on sale now … Dinner in the Field around the corner
Zapp to it: The 9th annual Zapp’s International Beerfest will be held Saturday, April 6, 3:30 p.m.-6 p.m., on the grounds of the LSU Rural Life Museum. More than 200 foreign and domestic beers, ales and homebrews will be made available for tasting during this popular annual event benefiting the museum. This fun-filled afternoon is for patrons 21 and older, so a proper I.D. must be presented upon entering the event. Tickets are $30 and advanced purchase is required. Only 1,500 tickets will be sold, so contact the LSU Rural Life Museum at 765-2437 to make sure you snag yours, as this event sells out every year.
Farm to feast: Slow Food Baton Rouge will hold its third annual Dinner in the Field and Farm Tour north of the city on Sunday, March 24. The day begins at 10 a.m., as the public is invited to work up an appetite touring various farms and producers around Gurley, La. From 3 p.m.-5 p.m., hors d’oeuvres and refreshments await ticket holders as you mingle with Slow Food Baton Rouge members and supporters at Oakland Plantation. You can revel in the live music provided by Ben Bell and the Stardust Boys, and shop and support farmers and producers at the mini-market.
