A Gift for Lyman Bourke
Gifted actor and funnyman Jamie Wax brings his musical holiday one-man show, A Gift for Lyman Bourke, to the Baton Rouge Little Theater this week. Wax morphs into 20 different characters as he recounts elderly title character Lyman Bourke’s greatest boyhood adventure—running away from his Baton Rouge orphanage to meet his favorite radio star, “Young Orphan Agnes,” at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans on Christmas Eve 1928—and the colorful people, places and experiences he encountered along the way. At turns funny, heart wrenching and moving, you won’t want to miss what’s become a Baton Rouge holiday tradition. Thursday through Sunday. Tickets are $25-$29. Visit brlt.org for tickets.
