Arts: Best Bets
Marking its 50th anniversary, the Louisiana Art & Science Museum celebrates with a swanky Golden Gala Oct. 5. The next day, the museum is opening up the vault. As part of the 50 Years of Collecting exhibit, curators are dusting off selections from more than 4,000 objects housed inside the downtown museum. Expect paintings, sculptures, artifacts, antiquities from as far as Greece and Egypt and more. The exhibit runs Oct. 6-Jan. 6. lasm.org
UNTIL OCT. 7: The Glassell Gallery at the Shaw Center finishes up its exhibit of cutting-edge conceptual art, Social (Dis)order, which includes several participatory and interactive works, one of which translates hits to the gallery’s website into physical damage to a gallery wall via a drill.
