Movies Music on the Lawn
Baton Rouge Gallery’s lauded summer film series, Movies & Music on the Lawn, continues Saturday with one of the only surviving films to star legendary escape artist Harry Houdini, The Man From Beyond. Houdini plays a man who awakens after being frozen for 100 years—and upon his return, he attempts to straighten out the lives of his descendents and lost loves. The film airs on a towering inflatable screen on the lawn behind BRG, within BREC’s historic City Park, and will also feature an improvisational soundtrack from local experimental group The (New) Zeelanders. The screening begins at sundown, and the $5 price of admission includes unlimited free popcorn. For more information about the series, click here.
