‘The Next Stage’ gets kickstarted
Just five days before the official end of its Kickstarter campaign, Hartley/Vey Theatres at the Shaw Center surpassed its goal of $15,000 on Thursday. The campaign was organized to help rebrand the two spaces (one a studio/concert venue, the other a rehearsal and workshop space) and create a separate identity from its umbrella facility, the Manship Theatre.
Billed as a “haven for emerging artists and artforms,” Hartley/Vey Theatres aims to provide intimate shows, all-ages events, lower ticket prices, artist workshops and more. 225 writer Leslie D. Rose wrote about the campaign in our August issue (read that story here).
The Kickstarter campaign (check that out here) was expected to wrap up with a fundraising event Aug. 10, which now will likely be more of a celebration. The event includes a performance by Prom Date. Tickets are $10. Find out more about that event here.
