Ginger Shandies
There’s no better time to sit out in the backyard and enjoy a sweet cocktail than summer—especially on a rain-cooled afternoon. And what better treat to enjoy than a shandy? This simple recipe for a beer shandy has relatively low alcohol content and a pleasing bite due to the addition of ginger beer. You can find ginger beer at local specialty grocers like Calandro’s and Whole Foods. It’s worth the extra effort for this tasty blended drink.
3 bottles (11.2-ounce) chilled Hoegaarden beer (or other white beer)
1 bottle (12-ounce) chilled ginger beer
1 thinly sliced lemon
Mint sprigs, for garnish
In a large pitcher, combine beer with ginger beer. Stir in most lemon slices and mint sprigs. Fill 6 rocks glasses with ice. Add remaining lemon slices to glasses and pour in the shandy. Garnish each drink with a mint sprig and serve. (Recipe courtesy delish.com)
