Cinco de Bayou
Cinco de Mayo may not hold much significance for those who lack Latin blood running through their veins, but it’s a great excuse to tip back a cerveza or two—or better yet, a margarita. Taco Boudreaux’s (Map it!), on South Sherwood Forest Boulevard near I-12, serves up a signature Mardi Gras Margarita, effectively combining the best of Cajun and Mexican drinking cultures in one colorful glass. A premium tequila frozen margarita is layered with a fresh fruit juice mix, then rimmed with yellow sugar for an extra-sweet kick. Wet your whistle with one of these while you munch on some tasty nachos and boudin balls and laissez les bons temps rouler—or perhaps, ¡Deja que los buenos momentos pasen! —Rachael Upton
