Scuttlebutt: Suri celebrates her sweet six with cupcakes … Andrew Zimmern airs Baton Rouge ‘Jambalaya Smackdown’

Suri Cruise, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, got a box of special treats from a local cupcake bakery on her recent sixth birthday, courtesy of the kids of David and Victoria Beckham. Cupcake Couture in the Mall of Louisiana (Map it!) got the call on Saturday for two dozen chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, with a note reading “Dear Suri, Happy Birthday! Love, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz & Harper.” The cupcakes were done up in a special deluxe pink and blue box, to make them look “extra girly and cute,” according to co-owner Lauren Whittle. The Appetite for Life with Andrew Zimmern segments filmed in Baton Rouge back in January are at last live on the show’s website. Zimmern, star of the Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods, judged a “Jambalaya Smackdown” between two former Gonzalez Jambalaya Festival champions, Carlos Braud and Tee Wayne Abshire. Mayor Kip Holden also put in an appearance to proclaim the day “Andrew Zimmern Day” in honor of the personable television host. A food truck “roundup” and judging accompanied the event.
