Red Stick gets bluesy

No longer in the shadow of JazzFest and Festival International, Baton Rouge’s own annual Blues Fest has expanded to two stages and a series of backstage talks at the Old State Capitol, where blues performers and experts dig into what the blues is all about. You can catch unforgettable acts like James Johnson, Henry Gray, Lightnin’ Malcolm, Johnny Winter and much more, as well as much on delicious festival foods like alligator-on-a-stick and crab beignets. This Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Free to the public. Full lineup and more info at batonrougebluesfestival.org.
