A ‘Horse’ of course

Steven Spielberg returned to the trenches of war torn Europe last Christmas for the battlefield equine drama War Horse. Based on the book by Michael Morpurgo, Spielberg’s adaptation is set during WWI and follows a young English teen who enlists to serve in the army as the horse he trained is sold into the cavalry to make ends meet. Temporarily blinded in the field, the boy still recognizes his horse when they reunite unexpectedly. But the horse’s fate on the auction blocks could prevent a permanent reunion after Armistice Day if the boy can’t figure out a way to get him back. Jeremy Irvine, Peter Mullen and Emily Watson star. Rated PG-13.
