Map out a good time

Are you mad for maps? Antique map enthusiast, geologist and CARTE museum director Dave Morgan will be the featured speaker at this month’s Foundation for Historical Louisiana heritage lecture at the Old Governor’s Mansion. Morgan will display selected historic maps from his personal collection and will discuss the French influence during pre-colonial periods in the Mississippi basin. He will also discuss the map collection, showing the original rare maps, many of which are hand-colored. Grab delicious refreshments provided by Calandro’s Select Cellars at 6 p.m. before you enjoy the lecture. 6-8 p.m., free to the public. fhl.org
