First Wednesday at Baton Rouge Gallery

Tonight, the Baton Rouge Gallery holds a First Wednesday opening reception for their August exhibition, featuring the works of gallery members Phyllis Lear, Amy James and Matt Morris. Gallery visitors will be treated to James’ boldly serene monochromatic portraiture, Lear’s ephemeral tribute to Russian-American painter Mark Rothko and Morris’ mixed media exploration of the relationship between nature and technology. Enjoy free hors d’oeuvres and drinks while you view these new artworks from 7 to 9 p.m. And don’t miss the ARTiculate Gallery Tour, this Sunday at 4 p.m., when all three artists will be on hand to explain their art to the visiting public.
