Salivation Station – Bites

A new bright-yellow truck is feeding Baton Rouge wraps and paninis with six degrees of salivation: pulled pork, grilled chicken, fresh local vegetables and more on a variety of breads. Salivation Station upgrades regular deli sandwiches with gourmet ingredients such as their signature aioli and a homemade boudin. Although the menu only offers six things, they are all delicious, so be sure to give yourself some time for decision-making. One of the more popular meals is the #6 Salivating Pulled Pork Wrap ($7.25). Within the confines of a warm tortilla, the Salivation Station crew combines tender, juicy pork with boudin and aioli. The creamy coleslaw is a sweet surprise, but the chef clearly knows what he is doing. Another favorite is the #3 Ragin Cajun Panini ($7.25) with grilled chicken, sausage and bacon. This sandwich receives a decent helping of aioli and cheddar cheese and plenty of heat from jalapenos and a jalapeno sauce. For an additional buck-fifty, you can add a side of chips and a drink. If you still have room, there’s the Praline Pecan Bread Pudding ($4.25) to finish off a tasty mobile meal. The roving location of the Salivation Station can be found on Twitter and Facebook and at salivationstation.com.
