‘Winnie,’ lose or draw

Few children’s stories are as beloved as those spawned by an innocent short story published in the London Evening News in 1925 and written by a young playwright A.A. Milne, who was inspired by his son Christopher Robin and his son’s stuffed animals. It has been more than seven years since Pooh Bear and his friends of the Hundred Acre Wood arrived on movie screens everywhere, and this Friday they all return in grand, old fashioned hand-drawn and 2-D style with Winnie the Pooh. When Pooh sets out in search for honey, he misinterprets a note from Christopher Robin, a mistake that send he and Piglet, Eoyore, Tigger, Owl, Rabbit, Kanga and Roo on an adventure to rescue their friend from what they believe to be certain doom. Winnie the Pooh veteran, and former New Orleanian, Jim Cummings returns to voice both Pooh and Tigger, and John Cleese and Craig Ferguson co-star with brand new music from Zooey Deschanel. Rated G.
