‘Crowne’ royal

It’s back to school this Friday for Tom Hanks in the romantic comedy Larry Crowne. After losing his job, Hank’s former Naval officer and successful store manager goes through a mid-life crisis and only finds himself again after enrolling in a local college and develops an unexpected crush on his public speaking instructor played by Julia Roberts. Falling right in with a cast of other adults returning to school, Crowne finds a renewed verve for life. Written by Hanks and My Big Fat Greek Wedding writer/star Nia Vardalos, and directed by Hanks himself, also features Oscar-nominee Taraji P. Henson, Pam Grier and Rob Riggle. Rated PG-13.
