Roundup: Steak ‘n Shake eyes seven corridor locations

Shake it up: Steak ‘n Shake, the Midwestern chain famous for its hamburgers and shakes, plans to open seven restaurants in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Franke says the local franchisees are eyeing stand-alone locations and restaurants inside strip shopping centers. Indianapolis-based Steak ‘n Shake has nearly 500 restaurants but none in Louisiana; plans are to open the chain’s first Louisiana restaurant by the fall.
