Signature sandwiches
Is there anything more elegant than a sandwich? The perfect portable food, with any number of fillings and breads to create completely individual meals. Several restaurants around the Capital City have made a sandwich their own—below is just a selection of myriad offerings. Bistro Bomber at Bistro Byronz: Heaped with roast beef, caramelized onions, horseradish sauce and provolone cheese, the Bistro Bomber is a savory, sweet and spicy delight. Byronz has plenty on the menu to tempt, but for a filling lunch, a Bomber can’t be beat. Smoked Pork Loin Au Jus at Chelsea’s Café: Chelsea’s menu is a mix of cuisines, from Greek to soul food, but one standout is this rich take on the French dip: smoked pork loin sliced to medium thickness and served on French bread that soaks up the salty juices just right. Red Stick Roast Beef at Buzz Café: Another take on roast beef can be found downtown at the Buzz Café. Loaded with deli-sliced roast beef and provolone, the flavor is enhanced by fresh red onion, lettuce, roma tomatoes and garlic mayonnaise. Ham and Brie at Yvette Marie’s: Ham and cheese may be a fairly common sandwich combination, but when honey-baked ham is combined with gooey brie, apricot preserves, baby lettuce and tomatoes on a fresh-baked croissant, you achieve something above and beyond.
