Roundup: Baton Rouge Coca-Cola plant to be featured on ‘Ultimate Factories’ … Menchie’s moving into Central
Red Stick, red can: The new Baton Rouge Coca-Cola bottling plant will be featured on the National Geographic Channel program Ultimate Factories. The program, which will air at 9 p.m. tonight, looks at how Coca-Cola is able to produce 1.7 billion servings per day of the popular soft drink to consumers worldwide. The Baton Rouge Coke plant is featured because it’s deemed the most state-of-the-art plant in the U.S. and it’s the nation’s only certified “green” bottler, too. Menchie’s munchies: Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt opened its fourth location in the Capital Region last week, on Wax Road in Central. Travis Hood, the LSU student who owns the Central location, also owns a Menchie’s in Hammond.
