To pay ‘Paul’

Anglophiles and fans of cult favorite comedies Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz will rejoice for the onscreen reunion of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in this Friday’s alien encounter comedy Paul. Playing two English comic book nerds driving cross country to pay homage to Area 51, Pegg and Frost come across a smart-aleck alien named Paul who’s been cooped up inside the top secret military base for decades before deciding to escape and hitch a ride on the first vehicle he sees. A screwball road trip ensues as the geeks befriend Paul and assist his getaway with Jason Bateman and a team of federal agents in hot pursuit. Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig co-star with Seth Rogen lending his burly, unmistakable voice to the wisecracking Paul. Rated PG-13.
