Short operas at Shaver

Opera Louisiane artists will sing their hearts out this Sunday at the Shaver Theatre as they perform two one-act operas tackling very different subjects. First up is Rosanna, penned by Baton Rouge’s own Dinos Constantinides, in which a crucial moment in two women’s lives is played out against the backdrop of a harsh class system in 1930s Chile. Then comes Mozart’s classic pastoral comedy Bastien & Bastienne, in which two country lovers fall out of and back into love with the help of a wily magician. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students. 2 p.m. operalouisiane.com
