What do you miss?
|
|
Definitely family. With my new baby girls, having my parents closer would be a huge help.
What don’t you miss?
The humidity.
What’s essential when you come back home?
A trip to the Chimes. I also like driving around to see how new developments have progressed.
What does Chicago have that you wish Baton Rouge did?
Better public transportation. I am less dependent on my car now. That’s something that never seemed possible in Baton Rouge.
What do you like most about your new home city?
We’ve lived down the street from Wrigley Field for a while now—being able to hear the organ from your back porch is pretty cool.
What don’t you like about Chicago?
The wind chill.
How does the food compare to Baton Rouge?
It’s different—much less seafood and way too many brats.
How about the music, the nightlife?
I miss the small venues in Baton Rouge. There are great theaters and halls in Chicago, but there’s something to be said for watching your favorite band in a club like Red Star or Chelsea’s.
