New executive chef at Nottoway

Nottoway Plantation has hired Baton Rouge native Daniel Thompson as its new executive chef of the Mansion Restaurant. Thompson is an alumnus of White Oak Plantation, where he worked as executive chef under John Folse; he’s also worked as executive chef at the Baton Rouge Country Club, and as sous chef at Commander’s Palace and Windsor Court Hotel, all prestigious positions. “Daniel brings a wealth of experience from a mix of Louisiana’s high-end restaurants,” said Neil Castaldi, general manager of Nottoway Plantation Resort in a press release. “He knows the nuances of Cajun and Creole cuisines, and his passion for fresh ideas will be a great fit for our team and our vision.” Thompson will be replacing Chris Wadsworth, who took over last year after the departure of David Reyes.
