Cheers: Pink Lady
With Valentine’s Day just behind us, and the Susan G. Komen race this weekend, the color of the week would seem to be pink. When you’re cooling down after you’ve run Baton Rouge’s biggest 5K on Saturday morning, why not whip up a few rounds of this classic—and very vivid—cocktail to sweeten the taste of victory? One of the first true “girly drinks,” it was a favorite of well-bred ladies after the end of Prohibition, and it’s been sipped in the halls of high society ever since. Make sure to shake it for a long time, since the egg needs to be fully blended to make the attractive foam on top. Click here for the recipe. (Image courtesy Wikimedia Commons)
