Drumming up support

The December issue of 225 introduced the Greater Baton Rouge Marching Drum Corps and Starette Dancers through some memorable portraits of the humble community band. Inspired by those evocative images of the young musicians at play, David Coner and Jonathan Harnsongkram of Digital FX partnered with photographer Brian Baiamonte and friend David Carner to produce a short, heartfelt documentary about the band that shows the kids practicing in a blighted section of MidCity. It stands as a stunning time capsule and video portrait of the children and adult volunteers who are striving to make this working-class band a success.
