Seeing ‘Green’

Sony Pictures has assembled an eclectic mix of talent for its new action comedy The Green Hornet, in theaters Friday and based on the popular radio and television series hero. Directed by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind helmer Michel Gondry, The Green Hornet stars Seth Rogen as millionaire playboy Britt Reid who inherits a media empire after the death of his father. But when Reid and his martial arts expert driver Kato have a chance encounter with a batch of thugs and thwart their attempted robbery, Reid and Kato decide to spend their time and resources as masked crime fighters. But they are in for an uphill battle against a criminal mastermind Chudnofsky, played by Oscar-wining Inglourious Basterds Nazi Christoph Waltz who’ll stop at nothing to get what he is after. Cameron Diaz, Edward Furlong and Tom Wilkinson co-star. Rated PG-13.
