Scuttlebutt: Harris named president and CEO of restaurant association … CC’s introduces ‘guilt free’ options
Stan’s the man: Stan Harris, the longtime president of TJM Restaurant Management, has been named president and CEO of the Louisiana Restaurant Association. Harris replaces Jim Funk, who retired last year. Harris, a Louisiana native, was president of TJM from 1990 to 2007, during which time it was the largest Ruth’s Chris Steak House franchisee and operator of TJ Ribs, Ninfa’s Mexican Restaurant and Ruffino’s Italian Restaurant. For the past three years Harris has been in Nashville, Tenn., serving as managing partner of an advisory firm that focused on business process improvement and team development for family companies and entrepreneurs. The LRA represents more than 7,500 restaurant operators and related businesses. Snack without remorse: CC’s Coffee House and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana have partnered in a brand-new “Guilt Free” campaign for 2011. CC’s will be listing a number of “guilt-free” options on their café menus, such as whole wheat triple berry muffins, whole wheat banana nut muffins, strawberry yogurt parfait, and mini turkey and Swiss croissant cups. These new items are made with skim milk and sugar-free flavors that significantly lower their calories. You can also pick up “Guilt-Free Guides” in addition to special offers from participating businesses like Varsity Sports and The Backpacker. Check out CC’s Coffee House’s Facebook page for more information, and a chance to enter their “Guilt Free Sweepstakes.”
