Black Joe Lewis at Manship

Austin’s Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears will hit the Manship Theatre stage this Tuesday, January 11, for a night of funk-influenced blues. Inspired by Howlin’ Wolf and James Brown, the band was fingered by Esquire in March of 2009 as one of the “Ten Bands Set to Break out at the SXSW Festival.” This diverse group of musicians have toured as openers for Spoon and Okkervil River, and now they’re here to entertain us.
