Nguyen’s Bistro closing

Local Thai-Vietnamese-Chinese fusion restaurant Nguyen Bistro will close early next month for an indefinite period of time. “The location has just been a problem,” explains owner Brian Nguyen. “It’s the wrong place for the concept. People in this area looking for Asian food for lunch want a buffet, and we don’t have one.” He added that he was very appreciative of his regulars but that he and staff had noticed a downturn in business, which could also be attributed to the poor economy. Nguyen is scouting new locations on Corporate Boulevard, Perkins Road and Bluebonnet Boulevard, and hopes to reopen his bistro in about six months. With little time to waste, fans of the eatery’s popular dishes, such as lemongrass soup and treasure duck, may want to get in another taste of their favorites before the location is shuttered on October 10.
