Sushi rocks at Rock-n-Sake
With its long wavy bar, split-level dining and splashy, pop art paintings from favorite neighborhood artists like TJ Black, Rock-n-Sake has made a powerful first impression as one of several new businesses to open this year in the homegrown shopping and nightlife district blossoming near the Perkins Road overpass. Like Lucy’s before it, Rock-n-Sake is another popular food-and-drink joint from New Orleans’ Warehouse District to migrate to the Capital City in 2010. True to its name, this sushi bar prides itself on loud music and a lively, modern pub atmosphere—a casual experience to complement its sushi dabbler’s menu. Assorted fresh sashimi and rolls are balanced by seared sesame salmon, rib-eye beef teriyaki, soba and udon noodle dishes; and rare sweets such as mango sherbet and red bean ice cream are offered for dessert.
