Sink your teeth into ‘225’
Next time you head into Brew Ha-Ha coffee shop, take a gander at their brand-new cake ball menu and you might see a familiar name. No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you—225 has its own flavor of cake ball: a mash of yellow cake and vanilla icing, dipped in rich chocolate. The name isn’t a coincidence, either; Brew Ha-Ha owner Gabby Loubiere has a standing policy of allowing customers to suggest recipes for new cake ball flavors. If the recipe sells, it stays on the menu, and whoever suggested it gets to name it—flavors like the Coco Lopez and the Hollis have become favorites for more than their creators. A former employee of Baton Rouge Business Report, Todd Brown, was the first one to request the basic recipe that makes up the 225, and—forbearing from calling it “the Todd”—decided to name it after Business Report’s sister publication. The 225 is available as a mini-cake ball, half the size of its full-size brethren but less than half the price at $1.09, or $10 for a dozen.
