App-etite: Mixologist puts emergency cocktails at your fingertips

The time for holiday entertaining is upon us, but your liquor cabinet is depleted. What’s a busy party host to do? A new iPhone app from Digital Outcrop might just have the solution. Mixologist’s “liquor cabinet” tab lets you enter every mixer and liquor you have on hand, and automatically generates all the recipes you’re able to make from the ingredients you’ve got. The phone-based drink and bartending guide contains more than 7,900 recipes, including cocktails, hot drinks, punches—even non-alcoholic drinks for the teetotalers at the party. You can even pick recipes based on what kind of glass you have on hand. Best part? It’s free—at least, if you don’t mind putting up with some paid advertisements on the screen. The full version is 99 cents, not a bad investment if you want take advantage of the paid features, such as being able to enter your custom recipes, and sharing drink ideas with other people.
