Nino’s Italian makeover

Based on her intense play in the rink you wouldn’t think she would need one, but RC Rola indeed has a day job that doesn’t include dispensing justice as a member of the Red Stick Roller Derby team. Rola is actually Randee Hyndman, who along with her husband Elton owns Nino’s Italian Restaurant on Bluebonnet Boulevard across from Perkins Rowe. After two years in Baton Rouge, the Hyndmans purchased Nino’s in May, and they brought plenty of new ideas with them. “We started with a clean slate, threw out the old menu and started from scratch,” says Elton Hyndman, who has been a chef in Seattle, New Mexico and Wisconsin. “No more 1985 red sauce.” For more on Nino’s revamped look and menu, click here.
