Downtown Wine Walk under new management

Wine Walk Wednesday downtown has been a popular mid-week destination for crowds looking to kick off their shoes and let their hair down. But from its inception three months ago, the event has been plagued with inconsistencies, from the sample amount for tasting (some venues poured 4 oz. glasses, while others only poured a single ounce) to the varieties of wine offered. However, all that changes this week with the creation of a new coalition of downtown bars and restaurants who have taken over the Wine Walk event from the previous organizers. “Before there was no one voice,” says Karen Dean, spokeswoman for Boudreaux & Thibodeaux. “Everyone was doing their own thing.
