‘Paranormal’ problems
Baton Rouge is one of just 13 cities that lo-fi horror flick Paranormal Activity opens in this Friday. The rest of the country has to vote online to demand a screening of this underground thriller. With tips of the hat to both The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield, Oren Peli’s Paranormal Activity reveals the found footage of a young couple that set up video cameras in their house in hopes of capturing evidence of the ghosts they believe to be haunting them. Featuring a cast of unknown indie actors—all the better to believe them with—the film’s trailer is filled with quick shots of test audiences absolutely losing their minds over grainy footage of rustling bed sheets and ghastly bumps in the night. See the movie only at Rave Motion Pictures Mall of Louisiana 15. Rated R.
