Richmond’s ‘absurdist string band’ plays evening show

First a canvas group of Baton Rougeans visit Richmond, Va., now some of them are coming here to show us how bluegrass can be done. The Hot Seats (formerly “Special Ed & the Short Bus) boogies down on the Roux House patio Thursday night as part of the Indie Lounge concert series. Opening for Richmond’s “beloved absurdist string band” will be Paul Johnson’s musical project, Atomic Heart. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cover is $5, and the kitchen will be open.
